No. You do not have to buy the conversioon kit to make The Griffin Tool work properly. However, the tool requires an air drill or battery powered drill with enough torque to raise and lower the gear. This can be purchased separately.

No. Conversion to The Griffin Tool does not alter the trailer or landing gear.

Can I still use my crank handle in emergency situations?

Yes. The Griffin Tool is designed to accept a conventional crank handle when an air or battery powered device is unavailable.
